News MC hosts relay for life; campus turns purple

While many students have either heard of or helped out with Relay for Life in the past in their own community, this year MC students will have the opportunity to host it. President of the MC chapter of Colleges Against Cancer, Karmen Todd, has been organizing this year's Relay for Life which will be held the night April 11th through the morning of April 12.     When first approached with the idea of a Collegian 'double date,' Thomas and Tyler weren't quick to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation known as a blind date. Since we are both very busy guys, we worried if we could fit it into our schedules. They wanted TnT so bad that Miss Collegian said she would let us pick our own dates…The quest began.     With a team that looked poised to sweep the ASC tournament, MC's men's basketball team travelled to Belton, Texas, to take on Howard Payne, a team that was winning just over half of their games. In the regular season, the Choctaws soundly beat the Yellow Jackets by sixteen points, so it seemed as if the team could almost go ahead and prepare itself for their second-round game.     Back in the fall, when it was time to register for spring classes, I never thought I would be learning something called wild crane spreads its wings, repulse monkey, or carry the tiger over the mountain. Most of you are probably thinking- what class is that? Well, it’s the therapeutic practice of Tai Chi.
